Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. D. 1977 U.S. Penny Mint mark D Colorization abnormal??
Typical environmental damage. Spend.
D. 1969 S was encapsulated in a coaster purchased at a local Goodwill. Damaged when broken out, pieces of acrylic still on coin. 6 Lincoln Cents inside coaster all BU This is a BU 1969 S DDO and I can't get any numismatist to care
Nor will you get this one to care. You destroyed a perfection good ashtray, a nice vintage piece worth $5-10, for no good reason.
D. I found a 1993 d mint penny that appears to have an extra cheekbone line extending from top of chin to the bottom of ear. It does not appear to be 'wear n tare" damage. Given that, I also cross example ned this coin with several other 1993 d mint pennies and found no other to have this anomaly.
Many dies are used to strike many coins. The dies wear differently and all coins are unique when you study them close enough. So even if you're right, that does not mean it has more than face value.
D. 2016 p nickel looks like it was struck with a penny.
Not in the mint. And nickels are mostly copper, it could just be oxidation.
