It does not look like a die chip error; such errors usually lead to a raised blob with fewer features, when the metal flows into the chip. However I am not an error/variety expert. Even if it is such an error, it is as likely to reduce the value of the piece as add. They have careful minting specifications in Canada, making such a mistake unlikely, and undesirable to most collectors. Errors need to be more dramatic to add value.
