This is a 1992 quarter that I believe was dyed with a different type coin but I'm not sure what. The rim has gold color and half of the edge is thicker than the other half. The back has a bubble. Thank you.

Not likely an error. Looks to me like this was treated with acid, which wears off the outer nickel shell.
