I found this old Buffalo nickel in an old coin collection many years ago. The obverse has a "blob" of extra nickel on it. The material is the same composition as the nickel itself, not added solder or other material. If you look closely within the "blob", you can see several letters impressed within it.
Do you believe this to be an error, and if so, what type?
