A good source for reading about coins is the "Red Book," widely available. Your coin pretty much looks like a typical circulated cent.

Hello, I just found this coin. I have done some Internet research on it. The coin has both designer marks and doesn’t have a “floating” roof. What I found interesting was the quality (crispness) of the engraving, (despite the apparent damage) and the representation of Lincoln. He looks different from some of the other examples I’ve looked at. Can you tell me more about this coin?
