This is a 1943 Jefferson Nickel struck on a planchet that appears to be that of a dime. Not a steel planchet bc it does NOT stick to a magnet. It weighs 2.256 g. I have searched on ebay, heritage auctions and PCGS & cannot find any information about this particular coin. Is there not another coin like it , or am I just not aware of this coins true composition? I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this subject for me. I'd like to send it in for grading, but not sure what this coin

The majority of the questions I get now confuse heavy wear and environmental, post-mint damage with mint errors.

In my judgement it's likely to be a heavily worn specimen with the standard silver manganese war alloy. The odds it's a dime planchette are too low to justify advising you pay for grading.
