It may have been. It does not look like that would easily happen any other way. I don't know much else, every such error coin is unique. I'd price it at $50 if real, but you'd have to find a certification company to stand by it, and that's not really worth it.

This penny is but one of several interesting error coins I've collected over the years and I unfortunately need to sell them . This penny seams to have been made with a defective planchet. But,I of course am not an expert but would appreciate your opinion greatly. Thank you for your time.
