This is the first year of the liberty Nickels series, and for some reason the most common that I see. Probably many were set aside. Look at the back. Some interesting history, if it doesn't say "cents" on it it's the first and more common variety. A guy named Josh gold plated them and passed them off as five dollar gold pieces, hence the term "joshing you". Halfway through the year they changed and added the word "cents" for the less common variety which might be worth a few dollars more. Yours is in such a nice condition, probably worth about five dollars.
