Part II: "Why it say online it's worth 100 grand or more "

You sent a picture of a damaged 1942 cent. In good the CDN lists this as three cents dealer price, 18 cents retail. I can not tell you why people write what they write online. If someone says it's worth 100 grand perhaps you should offer it to them at fifty grand and tell them you are giving them a bargain. I particularly can't comment on something you read if you don't provide the link or a direct quote of the page: what they are evaluating, what they say.

Often people lie or are wrong on the Internet. Just as often, people read what is written and misinterpret it. As an example: the last couple presidential elections.
