Yes. Regarding the coin, I think there are no apparent errors shown here. All evidence suggests post mint damage is the only thing that distinctively affected this coin. Grading it would be a poor move, not because of your ability or lack thereof to pay, but because no reputable grading company is likely to encapsulate it and you will be out the money.
But there is something else I feel compelled to say. And please don’t shoot the messenger. My assessment comes from fifty years of studying coins, a life membership in A.N.A., over a dozen grading courses, and three decades of professional work. So I find it disturbing when someone authoritatively blames our fine, hardworking mint employees for what took place well after they did their part. Access to the Internet does not make one an expert just because it gives access to information and images, or does it replace years of experience and training.
