It looks like a Mexican 50 peso gold piece with a value, in jewelry, of $4,900. If the mount is 14K gold you can add a couple hundred dollars. If authentic, and it looks like it very well may be so, this was a generous gift indeed, and something special to keep in the family.

My father gave me this beautiful coin/money clip decades ago. He often traveled to Mexico on business & brought this back from one of those trips. Anyway, I'd like to get this appraised. I don't know if I want to sell it at this time. I may want to leave it to my family as well.
